Knowledge and information resources in the field of children and young adults published at both home and abroad are systematically collected to reinforce the function as the nation's representative children and young adults library and as a knowledge-based center. Moreover, research materials related to children and young adults such as reading guide, children literature and others are extensively collected to sincerely execute its role as a professional research library.- materials
Fundamentally, pursuant to the Libraries Act Article 20, materials related to children and young adults are being collected. Furthermore, materials to support research activities related to children and young adults in other fields of children and young adults such as literature, psychology, education, welfare and reading as well as books recommended for young adults, refinement materials and materials for parent education are purchased- Overseas materials
International award winning books for children literature, key representative works of children authors, children books that informs children about the culture and history of the world, research materials in the field of children and young adults such as literature, education, psychology and others are researched and books in 13 languages including English, French, Vietnam and others are bought based on the recommendation of Overseas Material Recommendation Board Members comprised of scholars and researchers in the field of children and young adults. - Organization
Overall works from collection to organization such as registration, classification, listing, equipment and others are carried out on domestic and overseas materials purchased for children and young adults and internally produced materials to promptly serve users.- Classification method
'6th Edition of Korean Decimal Classification (KDC)' is applied to domestic books, Eastern books and non-books while '23rd Edition of Dewey Decimal Classification' is applied to Western books- Cataloging Rule
'4th Edition of Korean Cataloging Rules (KCR)' is applied to domestic books, Eastern books and non-books while the 'Resource Description and Access (RDA)' is applied to the Western books- Data technology format
List record is inserted in accordance with 'Korean Machine Readable Cataloging (KORMARC)-for Integrated Bibliographic format' - The domestic children's book organized through such material organization process is transferred to the Children's Collection Room, the domestic general books are transferred to the Young Children Collection Room and the research materials as well as overseas children's books are transferred to the Research Materials and Foreign Language Collection Room for service.
