ASEAN Children’s Reading Culture Development Project (2022-2024)
Under the purpose of forming a solidarity to promote children’s reading culture in ASEAN member states and Korea, the ‘ASEAN Children’s Reading Culture Development Project’ was implemented from 2022 to 2024 - funded by the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF). Consist of 2 members (1 leadership + 1 working-level) from each nation, ‘ASEAN-ROK Children’s Reading Culture Development Committee (AKRCC)’ was formed, while general meetings were held every year to examine the achievement of the communal goals by sharing implemented beneficial children’s reading culture programs of each country that aim (1) to establish environmental infrastructure of children’s reading culture; (2) to promote the awareness of the importance in children’s reading culture; and (3) to strengthen the professionalism of children’s librarians.
